What a summer!

It's hard to believe summer is almost over! After taking kids from Macon and Griffin to Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, Colorado, our family turned around and headed to Fraser, Colorado, where Joel served as a dining hall boss for the work crew at Crooked Creek from June 24 - July 15. Katherine and Mary Kate had fun hanging out in the Rocky Mountains, and, for two of the three weeks we were there, they had fun visiting with Mary Kate's grandparents. Granna (Katherine's momma) was able to visit the first week, and Granddaddy and Grandmama (Joel's parents) were able to come out the last week. It was so great to have my family out there, as my parents have never seen first hand a week of Young Life camp. They had a blast and were blown away by the efforts we put into giving kids the best week of their life! Also, they all were a huge help in the dining hall, as they could be found after many meals helping to clean up in the dining hall. What a blessing! We are so thankful that we get to spend parts of our summer at Young Life camps in beautiful settings like Crooked Creek. It's really neat to see the family atmosphere that is promoted by everyone on the assigned team. By the end of a session you've gone from new friends to best friends, and I can't even begin to explain how that happens. It's a unique picture of the body of Christ coming together, and I can't wait to see Mary Kate grow up around this family!
