Labor Day weekend, my mom and I took the kids to visit Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Ethan in Lexington. Rebecca planned a fun-filled, jam-packed weekend. We visited the Cincinnati Zoo, which is a really pretty zoo with animals that don't disappoint you. We had a picnic at the park. This was not just any park, but true to Lexington style, you could bring your horse. We had fun at the Kid's Explorium, which is an awesome kid's museum. Rebecca took MK to the barn to feed, brush, and pick Grace's and Romey's hooves. Grace is Rebecca's horse and Romey is Ethan's horse. Rebecca will soon be the proud mommy of a foal. MK also got to ride Grace for a bit. We visited the Kentucky Horse Park to see one of the horse shows, but it got rained out. Since Rebecca used to work there, she asked her friend to let MK ride one of the horses. She rode a beautiful Appaloosa named Pretty Boy Floyd. Then, we headed to Chick-fil-A sporting our college football shirts to get a free sandwich. The cashier said that I was brave to wear my Tennessee shirt there. Our last night there, we had a cookout with Ethan's family and some of Rebecca's neighbors that have a little girl Mary Kate's age. They had a fun time playing together. It was definitely an exhausting weekend, but well worth it. Rebecca and Ethan, I know it's quite a shock to have a 2 year old and a 9 month old invade your house, but y'all were awesome about it. Thanks for letting us come visit.
