May 9th was an incredible treat for our family! We were on our way back from Windy Gap, when our good friend, Steve Galloway, called. He had some tickets to the Braves game, with John Smoltz going against his longtime friend and old teammate, Greg Maddux. I was really excited, but I wasn't sure that we could pull off getting to the game. We'd have to go straight to the stadium, and Mary Kate would have to be fed in the car in a parking lot. Well, Katherine and Mary Kate both seemed up to the excitement, and I couldn't have been more pumped! Mary Kate was able to see a great game (ha! she slept the whole time!), and we had a wonderful time visiting with the Galloways. They are dear friends to us, and we are really going to miss seeing them so often when we move to Macon. We're savoring every chance we get to hang out until we move! We are so blessed to have them as friends, and I'm so blessed to have such an adventuresome wife and daughter! Not too many guys can say that their wife and daughter would be up for a Braves game at a moment's notice. I am a lucky guy!!
p.s. Smoltz was able to get the win, as Maddux left to a standing ovation in the 6th. Smoltz stayed strong as the Braves, after Maddux's departure, were able to come back and win 3-2. What a great game!
