Post Camp

I think I'm getting over my post-camp funk. I was not real excited about coming home knowing that we didn't have much going on until late July. I thought that I was going to be bored, but these have been an incredible two weeks. It's been great being home when I don't have tons of stuff going on and I can just play with the kids. We had a really fun 4th of July weekend topped off with homemade ice cream (which the kids have eaten every day) and a Braves game. The kids did great at the game, even having to wait an hour and a half for the fireworks after the game. We've had a lot of fun playing in the pool...minus the time that Ford got stuck under water. The highlight of the past two weeks has been summer campaigners. Each morning, several of the kids that went to Windy Gap would meet at our house for breakfast, worship, and to study the book of John. Speaking of Windy Gap, it was an incredible week (you can check out pictures on Facebook). We took 20 kids (thanks to the grace of God and Chris Campos' enthusiasm) and 10 kids decided to follow Jesus!

Mary Kate is finally completely potty trained. I think being at camp with her friend that didn't wear pull-ups encouraged her to go for it. She had only 2 accidents at camp and one or two the week our parents had her and none for the past 2 weeks. Even though John Rosemond would probably disagree with rewarding a child for something that they should naturally do, we used a bike to motivate her to not have accidents. Thursday, we went as a family to pick it out. She was so excited. Now, she just has to learn how to pedal forward. We became a of herd of bovines on Friday to celebrate Cow Appreciation Day. Sure, it was fun...but we all know it was for the free food. My sisters have had lots of exciting news lately. Stephanie found out that she and Joe are officially having a BOY and a GIRL!!! I can't wait to meet my niece and nephew. We're going to Charleston next weekend for MK to go to Stephanie's princess party at the museum and I can't wait to see her baby bump. Rachel just celebrated her 30th birthday! Anna's boy, Isaiah, just turned 1 and took his first steps...and will be a BIG brother around January! Maybe, we'll get the chance to visit New Zealand after this little one comes. Rebecca's horse, Grace, finally had her foal. Rebecca and Ethan slept in the barn for 10 days (and my mom for 4 days) waiting for this colt to be born. Here's a sweet picture...
