Sabbatical Continued

The past few weeks have been spent mostly missing my husband while he was in California for a class. The kids skyped with him every night to read their bedtime story and pray (while pretending to hold hands). One night, Mary Kate was upset about missing her Daddy. I tried to comfort her by saying that she just got to talk to him, see him, and hold his hand. She said, "but I want to hold his hand for real." I did too. So, I booked a flight to meet him in Colorado. He was flying there on the 1st to meet up with Macon kids to go to Crooked Creek. He was getting there a day before the kids, so that gave us some time to hang out just the two of us. It was a great weekend. I love it when I can stay in a hotel and take full advantage of it...sleep in, use the exercise room, eat hotel dining, come back to a clean room, lounge around and watch tv. It was wonderful. The best part, of course, was seeing Joel after 2 weeks. Now, we have to wait another week before we see him again. But, I'm hoping that he and all the Macon kids have an amazing time at Crooked Creek. Wish I was there.

Before going to Colorado...
We got to celebrate Rachel's birthday!
Spend some time on the lake with Papa Doc!

Painted my mom's dining room!
(which meant my mom had to entertain the kids most of the week...thanks Mom)

The kids spent the day at Callaway Gardens with Nonna and Grandaddy!

And, I got to have a 3 hour dinner with one of my favorite people, Mollie!

My mom has the kids with her in Mississippi visiting Nana and Grandaddy. So, I spent the 4th with Joel's parents. Robin made a feast for us to eat including the cookies that Anna made in New Zealand. Yay! Every time I eat them, I'll think of our time with The Lifseys in NZ. Now, I'm going to have a Brothers & Sisters marathon since my mom got me hooked on it...and eat some more of Robin's cookies.
