CCR Week 2

(For those of you that aren't sick of looking at pics of my kids, click on the pic above to see more)

We've just wrapped up an unbelievable week at Crooked Creek. This was a week with some rowdy, hard, hurt kids. It was amazing to see the number of kids that stood up at "Say-So" to say that they decided to follow Christ. Praise God!

Joel and I were able to get some time away from camp for a few hours, so we headed into Winterpark with the kids to play at the park and get some dinner. The park part was fun, but Mary Kate melted down at dinner, so we made a vow not to bring the kids next week on our night out!

We got to spend some special time with the Capernaum kids while their leaders were in a leader meeting. They are so much fun. There's a few pics in the album. Here's an awesome story...One of the capernaum kids was wheelchair bound. This week, he got to drive a ridge runner and completed the whole ropes course. A leader was telling me about it, tearing up, so thankful that this boy got to have freedom for a week. What a beautiful picture of the freedom that we can have in Christ.

The Quote of the Week: Joel was watching the kids while I worked with the Tawashi's one morning. When I came back to the cabin, he said, "It was a great morning. I just got to be a housewife today." As I'm looking around at the mess that was left and beds still unmade, I said something like "How's that?" And, he said, "Because I just got to sit around and talk to the other wives all day." Let's just say that he will never live that one down!
